The Phoenix Dance by Dia Calhoun
I thought this would be a good book but as I got further and further into it I found the writing to frilly, the story line too hard to follow and the characters hard to believe. Definately not one of my favorite books.

Akimbo and the Lions by Alexander McCall Smith
Excellent as usual. He has a knack for writing and it is wonderfully entertaining.

Sun Signs by Shelley Hrdlitschka

This book was o.k. A little lacking in storyline but overall something a young adult would like.

The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
This was an o.k. book. I listened to it. It is one of those books that you really need to read. I got lost from time to time throughout the story.

The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall

This book is great! Jeanne Birdsall writes a lot like Beverly Cleary--very gentle yet adventurous writing. Great book for younger kids.

Mercy Watson to the Rescue by Kate DiCamillo
A cute beginner reading book for kids about a man and wife who have a pig instead of kids.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp by Rick Yancy
Fast read and funny. When you think Alfred is doomed, just turn the page.

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
Excellent book! Really well written and good imaginative stuff for young adults to ponder.

13 Little Blue Envelopes
I like the wild goose chase this book's heroin has to go on and the fact that just when you think you know what is coming next, the author pulls a fast one.

I loved this book! Very imaginative. By the author of Tuck Everlasting.

This book started out o.k. Then got too monotonous with everyone fighting constantly. It also ended without a conclusion if that makes any sense.
